'Blasphemy, Sharia Law And Others Make Me To Leave UMYUK In 2017'-Ade Adeola Solomon

A former undergraduate student at Umaru Musa Yar'dua University Kastina, Ade Adeola Solomon said he dropped out of the institution in year one after he was told about Sharia law, blasphemy and other things that are abominations there.

He said,

"I was once a student at Umaru Musa Yar'dua University for good two months. I gained admission in 2017 around November and I left the institution in January 2018 after payment of necessary fees. I left because of some utterances from religious bigots. Blasphemy is a thing I don't really endorse, so when being told about it, I thought I'd still be able to live without commiting such a crime. But immediately they started telling me that I shouldn't get involved doing things with their women as majority of them are betrothed. I started developing fear! Why? Because I love women. And I love association too. I don't I can really abide by this particular rules.

Truly, some people in the North don't really like anyone to jokingly say anything about Prophet Muhammad (SAW) like we do to our pastors and prophets in the southern and Eastern Nigeria. "Prophet Muhammad (SAW) needs to be respected, valued and not criticized"- This was the statement one of my friends, Nuhu Ahmed there said to me. Another friend told me I shouldn't try to partake in their unionism or have anything like showing criticisms upon their governments. That it may lead to Death or my Physical assault.

When I went to places like Daura, Funtua, Kastina some parts of these regions have posters, placards, signposts supporting Sharia law all over. Some of the places I saw I was thinking they're Chinese towns because of their erected buildings and other things I saw (that I can't say here).

Another friend, Musa told me to be careful about my interactions with people, that some are in their land to infuriate you and later condemn you. He said, "My people are incensed and ready to kill anyone alleged of bad thing. They won't sue you but they'll give such a person capital punishment by either cutting the person's hands from long sleeve to short". With this statement, I was already preparing how I will leave that time.

But I asked myself this question, "If these people are really tribalistic, why would they give me admission based on merit?"

I left Kastina because of all this. I know I might abide by some rules and failed in others. And I don't want to die Young. I left the school without informing my parents. Immediately around January 18th, I became an Ekiti boy.

Seriously, things are happening in the Northern Nigeria. I give respect to those who survive there. It's a no-go area for me again. May God bless those who live there.

In the case of Deborah, she needs justice. Instead of Killing Deborah, they should have sued Deborah to court. What they've done to Deborah can't be forgotten in the history of Nigeria and this actually means our land is accursed. The blood of Deborah shall fight for her! And those perpetrators of evils shall be revealed and punished.

I think Sharia law should be condemned or be only applicable to people who practice Islamic religion.

IS SHARIA LAW REALLY CONTRIBUTING POSITIVELY TO OUR ECONOMY?
