A Nigerian doctor, Dr Penking, has taken to social media to give 5 reasons why sex during menstruation is good.

The medical practitioner took to Tik Tok to give 5 advantages of having sex while menstruating.

According to him, the advantages include;

 It relieves menstrual cramps

 Natural lubrication

 It relieves headaches associated with menstruation

 Fix Period mood swings

 Shortens period

MY THOUGHTS

I don’t think it’s right to have sex during menstruation. ewww…. The biggest downside to having sex during your period is the mess.

If you have a high flow, blood can go on you, your partner, and the linens. Bleeding might make you feel self-conscious in addition to dirtying the bed. Anxiety over making a mess might detract from the pleasure of sex.

Another concern about having sex while on your period is the possibility of transmitting a sexually transmitted infection (STI) such as HIV or hepatitis. These viruses dwell in the bloodstream and can be transferred by coming into contact with contaminated menstrual blood. When you have sex, always use condoms to lower your chance of transmitting or contracting a STI.
